Our Company’s History
Looking Back
In 1971, Kent Moore began subcontracting cabinets and trim work in the Bryan-College Station area while attending Texas A&M University. The business was intended as part-time employment until he graduated with a degree in Education, with expectations to be a biology teacher and coach.
As Bryan-College Station entered a rapid growth period, the part-time work quickly evolved into a flourishing business. As a 'site-built' cabinet company, Kent Moore and two employees moved equipment from job to job in the early years. Normally, Kent Moore Cabinets would be installed in one house in a week's time.
In January of 1976, the first 'shop' was completed in College Station, only to continually grow. By 1989, the company was moving into a new, larger location which still houses the cabinet construction process in Bryan, TX.
In June of 2001, 38 additional acres were purchased in the Brazos County Industrial Park for continued expansion. In 2004, the addition of a 47,000 square foot facility at the Industrial park site and the Giardina flatline finishing system has allowed for an increased capacity along with a high-end furniture finish that is environmentally friendly.
Statewide cabinet sales have spurred the growth of Kent Moore Cabinets, Ltd with showrooms and sales offices located in numerous locations. In 2009, another 77,000 square foot of new manufacturing space was put in service and the acquisition of a building for the Kent Moore Cabinets, Ltd. corporate headquarters was accomplished. Most recently, design centers have been added in Ft. Worth, Waco and Corpus Christi. An additional 26,400 square foot of warehouse space was added in 2022.
Kent Moore Cabinets, Ltd. is proud to have grown from a staff of three to over 600 employees across the state of Texas. We continue to strive to build the best custom cabinets specifically designed for discriminating homeowners.
By utilizing the latest in technology coupled with old world craftsmanship and a hard working staff, Kent Moore Cabinets, Ltd. plans to continue to expand and improve the custom cabinetry offering for many years to come.
